Description
This kit converts the bike from standard diameter bars to oversize bars. (Note: the stock bars will not clear the stabilizer). The kit price includes, frame bracket tower, floating tower pin, upper and lower handlebar perches for oversize bars and a pre-selected oversized handlebars, plus the necessary hardware to compliment this model. Due to the frame configuration, this kit is only offered as a weld-on kit, and requires minor welding to attach the frame bracket to the frame, usually a 30 minute operation with a qualified welder. The Scotts stabilizer kit offers significant advantages to this model. Please call if you have any questions regarding this mount or installation. The kit includes everything you need (except the welder himself) and step by step pictured instructions. Steering damper must be purchased separate and the correct link arm will be provided for your bike.
The weld on kit is relatively easy to install and requires 2 small welds, one on each side of the frame bracket. This kit is specific to each bike with consideration for which combination of bars and triple clamps are being used. The frame bracket is a universal, weldable tower, that can be adjusted to accomodate different height applications and frame shapes. Because the weld-on tower doesn't have to mount around the head tube, it is very narrow and compact, lending itself quite nicely to applications where space between the gas tank and head tube is narrow. Weld-on towers are normally a stronger option depending on the design of the stock head tube. Each kit includes the handlebar bracket, weld-on tower, instruction manual and applicable hardware. (NOT for Aluminum Frames).
