We no longer cut a drain plug hole. If we do it seriously compromises underbelly case-frame protection. However you do not have to take plate off completely to drain oil. It should take you less than a minute to lower plate. Testing has shown that the huge hole just to access a wrench at stock drain plug location is bad idea for offroad.
